Benelli is one of the oldest Italian motorcycle brands in the world and the firm is set to broaden its horizon by introducing their first ever adventurer motorcycles in India, namely the TRK 502 and the 502X. Benelli had joint hands with Adishwar Auto Ride India (AARI), a subsidiary of Mahavir Group based in Hyderabad. Benelli has made a mark in India with the 302R, TNT 300 and the TNT600i, which are all assembled at the Gundlapochampally facility near Medchal. The TRK502 and the TRK502X will be brought in through the CKD route. Pre-bookings have already begun at Rs10,000.
The TRK502 features a 499.6cc parallel-twin engine mounted on a trellis tubular frame. It is capable of delivering 48PS and 46Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The bike also comes with a 20L fuel tank which results in high fuel range for the long hauls. As for the exterior, it has 17-inch alloy wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres. The Benelli TRK502X on the other hand features 19-inch spoke wheels up front to sustain more adventurous riding conditions. It also has a high mounted exhaust for higher ground clearance.
