Starting next season, Grand Prix fans will get another racing class they’ll need to pay attention to, because next season we will be able to watch the first electric world championship take place alongside the MotoGP races.
Known as the FIM MotoE World Championship, this class will use Energica Ego Corsa bikes, much like the Ego road-version but prepared to race duties. The 160 hp electric engine will get the bike up to a max speed of 250 km/h, and the riders will benefit from a lower weight comparing to the road legal Energica.
We still don’t know the name of the riders that will compete in MotoE, but Dorna has already announced the five rounds that will make the season.
The 2019 MotoE calendar:
May 5th, Jerez, Spain
May 19th, Le Mans, France
July 7th, Sachsenring, Germany
August 11th, Spielberg, Austria
September 15th, Misano, San Marino
We expect that Dorna will announce the full list of MotoE riders during this weekend MotoGP race in Aragon.
