If you like exotic and very special motorcycles, and if you’re already looking at the option available out there, then we’ve got great news for you! Iconic race bike builders Paton have just announced a special edition of their S1-R called the S1-R 60th Anniversary.
This is the street-legal replica of the bike that Michael Dunlop took to victory at the Lightweight TT race at the Isle of Man and comes fitted with all the knowledge Paton gained through their experience in the racing world for the past 60 years.
This special edition features a new matt black and green paintjob like Michael’s bike and also a new SC Project titanium exhaust system, which will, hopefully, let the S1-R lean more into right-hand corners because of better ground clearance when compared with the regular exhaust fitted to the S1-R.
And what’s inside those race-replica fairings?
Well, Paton is known for their handmade bikes, and this S1-R 60th Anniversary isn’t any different. Most of its elements are handmade by special technicians, including the tubular steel trellis frame or the fuel tank in aluminium, a custom-made seat unit by Race Seats, an Öhlins FGRT204 front fork and not to mention race-spec Brembo brakes and Moto2 wheels for increased handling.
Fixed to the special chassis is a proven Kawasaki ER-6 engine coupled to a custom Paton electronics package, which should be good to get the S1-R 60th Anniversary to speed well over road legal limits.
