Royal Enfield has made a new record with a new sales record with its new Classic 500 Pegasus limited edition model which went on sale on its website on June 25 at 4PM. The firm has sold out 250 units of the motorcycle in India within a groundbreaking 178 seconds!

Based in Chennai, Royal Enfield is an established brand in India and throughout Asia. Initially, the firm had set the sale for July 10 but the website crashed due to an overwhelming response from the bike enthusiasts. Ironically, the Pegasus 500 is the most expensive model of Royal Enfield to date at a price of Rs 2.40 lakh (RM14206.44).

The response may be attributed to its first-come-first serve basis as it is limited to 1,000 units worldwide. The bike is a lightweight bike that really brings out the best of quality in performance.

It comes with the Pegasus vintage emblem and stenciled numbers on the fuel tank alongside a leather strap on the air filter box. It also has a pair of canvas panniers and blacked out exhaust, rims, kickstart lever, pedals and headlight bezel.

“The sale for Pegasus motorcycles has shown the tremendous aspiration to own brand Royal Enfield once again. Beyond all expectations, the sale of 250 limited edition Pegasus motorcycles was concluded online in a record time of only 178 seconds! I congratulate all the customers who are now proud owners of the Classic Pegasus limited edition motorcycle and thank them for their support and patronage,” said Mr. Rudratej (Rudy) Singh President Royal Enfield.
