The caption in the photo says it all, really. And to that, we say “Yes!”. To those not familiar with what’s going on, Kawasaki Malaysia has just teased the arrival of the Kawasaki Z900RS on its official Facebook page. Revealed last year at the Tokyo Motor Show, the retro-themed motorcycle is all set to hit Malaysian shores in the near future.
Obviously, this being a teaser shot, nothing concrete is to be found. All there is to see is a shot of the motorcycle’s headlight and the phrase “Coming Soon Malaysia”. What we do know is that the Kawasaki Z1-inspired steed is close to the regular Kawasaki Z900 save for a few differences.
First, the similarities. The Kawasaki Z900RS comes powered by the same 948cc inline-four cylinder engine as the Z900 but with a slightly different state of tune to match the motorcycle’s less hardcore character. In this particular application, the mill pumps out a total of 111 hp as opposed to the 123 hp that the Z900 touts.
Moving on to the differences, the Kawasaki Z900RS is equipped with radially-mounted four-piston brake calipers. Two-stage traction control and ABS are also featured. Wet weight is 214 kg while the fuel tank is capable of holding a total of 17 litres.
