Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS), Malaysia’s national motorcycle manufacturer and a member of the DRB-HICOM Group, today celebrated the official launch of the all-new Kawasaki KLX 230S and KLX 230SM. The debut of these two dual-sport motorcycles marks an important step in MODENAS’ Kawasaki line-up, bringing freedom, versatility, and adventure to Malaysian riders.

The Kawasaki KLX 230S captures the essence of Kawasaki’s long-standing dual-sport heritage. It is powered by a 233cc air-cooled, four-stroke single-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed transmission, delivering smooth and dependable performance. Built with a lightweight chassis, long-travel suspension, and full-size wheels, 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear, the KLX 230S ensures excellent stability and control across Malaysia’s diverse riding environments. Weighing only 133 kilograms and supported by a 7.5-litre fuel tank, it offers the perfect balance of agility and durability, making it equally at home on daily commutes and weekend trail rides.

Joining it is the Kawasaki KLX 230SM, a supermoto variant tailored for urban riders who crave precision and style on the road. While sharing the same proven 233cc platform, the KLX 230SM is equipped with 17-inch wheels, road-focused tyres, and sport-tuned suspension, ensuring sharper handling and a commanding presence in city traffic. Designed for nimble manoeuvres and confident cornering, the KLX 230SM adds a dose of supermoto excitement to Kawasaki’s growing Malaysian range.

Roslan Roskan, Chief Executive Officer of MODENAS, said the launch reflects the company’s commitment to providing motorcycles that meet the evolving lifestyles of Malaysians:

“Whether you are exploring trails for the first time, seeking a versatile dual-sport machine, or chasing agility on the streets with a road-focused supermoto, these models offer freedom on every journey.”

Both the Kawasaki KLX 230S and KLX 230SM will be available at Kawasaki dealerships nationwide starting early October. The KLX 230S is priced at RM 23,000, while the KLX 230SM is priced
