The exhilarating roar of MotoGP bikes will soon echo through Brazil once again, as Goiânia gears up to host the world’s most thrilling motorsport event from 2026 to 2030. This landmark agreement between MotoGP, the Government of Goiás, and Brasil Motorsport signals a return to Brazilian soil after more than two decades.

A Historic Venue for a Historic Comeback

The Goiânia International Racetrack Ayrton Senna last hosted MotoGP from 1987 to 1989. It will now return as a hub of high-speed action. The iconic venue is undergoing upgrades to meet modern standards. It aims to provide a world-class stage for riders and fans.

Brazil, famous for its passionate motorsport fans, has a rich MotoGP history. Alex Barros’ victories highlight this legacy. Rising star Diogo Moreira, Moto2™ Rookie of the Year, brings new hope to Brazilian fans. They have much to anticipate.

MotoGP’s return will ignite fresh enthusiasm in Brazil. This aligns with the sport’s goal to grow its audience in South America.

Goiânia: The Heart of the Action

Goiânia, the capital of Goiás state, offers a unique blend of urban vibrancy and natural beauty. Known as the “Heart of Brazil,” this modern and environmentally conscious city is the perfect backdrop for MotoGP’s high-octane spectacle. Fans attending the races will experience not just the thrill of the sport but also the charm of a city committed to cultural preservation and economic growth.

MotoGP Confirms Five-Year Deal with Goiânia from 2026

A Partnership Built for Success

Brasil Motorsport, the powerhouse behind the successful Formula 1 São Paulo Grand Prix, is partnering with MotoGP to make this event a reality. Together with the Government of Goiás, they aim to deliver a seamless experience for riders, teams, and fans.

Governor Ronaldo Caiado expressed his excitement, stating, “The return of MotoGP to Goiás is a historical landmark for us. Goiânia will be the home of MotoGP in Brazil for the next five years. We are working to ensure that the infrastructure and services provide an unforgettable experience for riders, teams, and fans.”

Alan Adler, CEO of Brasil Motorsport, echoed this enthusiasm: “Based on our history of working with major sports leagues, I am convinced that MotoGP in Goiânia will be a resounding success. The combination of thrilling races, entertainment attractions, strong brands, and enthusiastic fans will create an unforgettable event.”

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports, emphasized the significance of this new chapter: “We are very much looking forward to returning to Brazil. The fanbase here is incredible, and this agreement offers a fantastic opportunity to expand in a key market for the sport. Partnering with Goiás and Brasil Motorsport is an exciting step forward.”

As 2026 approaches, the anticipation for MotoGP’s return to Brazil continues to build. Goiânia is set to become a global hub for motorsport excitement, promising unforgettable moments both on and off the track.
