The 2024 Cub Prix Malaysia calendar boasts of 10 thrilling rounds, with the opening showdown scheduled to kick off at Litar Jasin Bestari, Melaka, next March. The official announcement regarding the 2024 calendar was made by the championship promoter, Safe Aim Mutual (SAM), with its promotional director, Ron Hogg, stating that this year’s edition marks a significant milestone for them.

Hogg expressed that the year 2023 symbolized the culmination of their three-decade-long efforts in the development and promotion of two-wheel motorsports at the national level. He emphasized that the experience gained would be leveraged to further enhance the sport.

“Building upon our accumulated experience, we are poised to elevate the standards of motorcycle sports in the upcoming season, providing our local talents with more competitive opportunities not only domestically but also internationally,” Hogg remarked.

Various initiatives have already been planned for the upcoming season, with the aim of raising awareness among the younger generation and fostering a deeper understanding of the sport. Hogg added, “We also hope that our efforts will pave the way for those interested in venturing into this sport.”

The 2023 season concluded at the Stadium Batu Kawan, Pulau Pinang, last November, crowning PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha-CKJ Racing’s rider, Akid Aziz, as the overall champion in the CP150 main class. CKJ Racing also celebrated a stellar season finale, with another one of their riders, Ahmad Afif Amran, securing the runner-up spot overall in the same class, trailing his teammate by a mere 32 points.

Here’s the schedule for the 2024 Cub Prix Championship:

  1. Round 1 (2-3 March): Jasin Bestari, Melaka
  2. Round 2 (4-5 May): Tangkak Racing Circuit, Johor
  3. Round 3 (1-2 June): Sepang North International Circuit, Selangor
  4. Round 4 (29-30 June): Teluk Intan Mini Stadium, Perak
  5. Round 5 (20-21 July): Sepang South International Circuit, Selangor
  6. Round 6 (9-10 August): Terengganu Motorsports Circuit
  7. Round 7 (31 August-1 September): Tangkak Racing Circuit, Johor
  8. Round 8 (28-29 September): Seri Jempol Square, Negeri Sembilan
  9. Round 9 (8-9 November): Bandar Medini Iskandar, Johor
  10. Round 10 (23-24 November): Pulau Pinang State Stadium

Ron expressed gratitude towards the championship sponsors, especially PETRONAS, and all other parties directly and indirectly involved in achieving their collective mission. “Our achievements undoubtedly wouldn’t have been possible without the systematic steps and cooperation from the Cub Prix sponsors, especially PETRONAS, and all other parties directly and indirectly involved in achieving our collective mission,” Ron concluded.
