The Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia Staff Cooperative Berhad (KOPPEMA) has signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) with four companies recently. This MoC will offer more benefits and protection, and ensure maximum returns to its members.
The signing of the MoC between KOPPEMA and Fastlane Emergency Resources Group Sdn Bhd, Kirim Bersatu Sdn Bhd, iMotorbike World Sdn Bhd, and Bumijez Sdn Bhd took place at the Parliament building in Kuala Lumpur.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Yang Berhormat Khairul Firdaus Akhbar Khan, witnessed the event.
The primary objective of the MoC is to enable KOPPEMA to expand its presence into a larger business arena. This would also provide enhanced returns to its members and the tourism industry as a whole.
Fastlane Emergency Resources Group Sdn Bhd offers a mobile application service called SOS Fastlane. This service can augment KOPPEMA’s existing insurance agency services and provide emergency response facilities to members who subscribe to the app at special membership fee rates.
KOPPEMA also aims to collaborate with Kirim Bersatu Sdn Bhd to provide general logistical services and also an Umrah courier service. Such would facilitate pilgrims to send their excess baggage from the Holy Land back home.
This would be done at a more competitive rate than what is currently available in the market.
Amidst the ongoing Covid-19 endemic that has adversely affected the regional economy, KOPPEMA hopes that its partnership with iMotorbike World Sdn Bhd will enable them to offer purchase packages of used motorcycles to its members and also others in need of financial relief at more competitive prices than the prevailing market rates. KOPPEMA also hopes that at the same time, it can provide combined insurance and security coverage through SOS Fastlane and Bumijez Sdn Bhd.
Through its collaboration with Bumijez Sdn Bhd, KOPPEMA hopes to extend the Darul Jenazah package that provides protection and death charity services to its members, as well as post-funeral assistance. This includes emergency legal and financial aid to affected families, whether they be of Muslim faith or non-Muslim.
We can expect the benefits arising from the MoC to extend to members of the Federation of Tourism, Personal Care, and Wellness Cooperatives Malaysia Berhad (FKPPDK), which has a collective membership of over half a million members.
