Yamaha has officially introduced the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ for the year 2023 which is now upgraded with various new electronic features.
According to Yamaha, the Tracer 9 GT+ is the most high-tech motorcycle the company has ever produced.
The main feature that differentiates the Tracer 9 GT+ from the existing Tracer 9 GT model is the addition of the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system. This is the first time Yamaha has introduced such a system on its machines.
The ACC system works by controlling the ‘engine braking’ and the Unified Braking System (UBS) to maintain the distance between the motorcycle and the vehicle in front.
Interestingly, the KYB electronic suspension will also be regulated by the ACC system when activated and will adjust the front fork accordingly to ensure the comfort level of the rider and pillion is at an optimal level.
The ACC system also has ‘cornering assist’ to prevent acceleration during ‘mid-corner’ and ‘passing assist’ which helps acceleration when trying to overtake other vehicles.
The Tracer 9 GT+ 2023 is also the first Yamaha model to come with the third-generation quickshifter system. The quickshifter can also be used while the ACC system is still active.
The UBS system will only be activated when Brake Control (BC) is also turned on. This UBS system offers brake assist, which will be of use if the system detects an impending collision. It also has from and rear brake assist where the system coordinates both the front and rear brake pressure to ensure the machine remains stable.
It also comes with a cornering brake control which controls the front and rear brake pressure simultaneously when cornering to prevent tire skidding.
Apart from that, the Tracer 9 GT+ features a 7-inch TFT meter panel, similar to the Yamaha TMAX 2022. It comes with a Garmin navigation system and riders can connect their smartphone to it.
For the record, the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ is still powered by an 890cc CP3 4-stroke, DOHC engine with liquid cooling. It is capable of producing 117hp at 10,000rpm and 93Nm at 7,000rpm.
