Yamaha will upgrade the Tracer 9 GT with Bosch radar technology for 2023. The technology is the same found on the Ducati Multistrada V4 and KTM 1290 Super Adventure.
According to German media reports, Motorrad, a Yamaha Tracer 9 GT has already been spotted undergoing testing in the country recently.
Based on the ‘spy shot’ photo that was successfully recorded, it clearly shows a Tracer 9 GT with a different front end than the model introduced last year.
There is a small black box has been placed between the front headlights that house the radar technology.
With the technology, this means that the Tracer 9 GT 2023 will be equipped with ‘Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)’ functions to replace the conventional ‘cruise control’ system found on existing models.
But according to Motorrad, while the Ducati Multistrada V4 and KTM 1290 Super Adventure have radar on the front (ACC) and rear (Blind Spot Detection), the upcoming Tracer 9 GT will only offer a radar system on the front.
This is because the ‘spy shot’ shared did not show any presence of radar in the tail section.
However, what is certain is that the latest upgrade implemented by Yamaha on the Tracer 9 GT indirectly gives the impression that the technology will also be expanded to other ‘touring’ models.
Stay tuned for the global launch of the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT 2023 which is expected to be announced soon.
