MondialMoto will make a V5 superbike with 200 hp

For those racing enthusiasts that have followed motorcycle racing in the past, MondialMoto might be a name they recall. After all, MondialMoto won several world championships back in the 50’s. But even though the name is the same, the truth is that this new brand has nothing to do with that brand that won those world titles.

The new MondialMoto is a company with a split headquarters between Italy and England, with offices in Modena and Wolverhampton.

The company announced the arrival of a new superbike to the market, a road legal superbike, powered by a unique and exotic V5 engine. This architecture was used in MotoGP a few years ago on the RC211V, and rumors at the time talked about Honda producing a special bike for the road with an engine derived from that race spec V5.

At the front the engine has three cylinders, and at the back we find the other two, an unusual arrangement. The engine itself is tilted forward at 75,5º angle, and to be able to hold high rpm’s for long periods of time, MondialMoto will install titanium camshafts.

This 1000 cc engine, according to the manufacturer, will develop 200 hp in road version spec, and its development is in the experienced hands of Antonio Matarollo, former Ferrari and Mercedes engineer.

The chassis of this unique superbike will be made in carbon fiber, the superbike will weigh just 179 kg and the seat height will be relatively low for a sportbike at just 790 mm distance to the ground.
