Energica Motor Company S.p.A has capped a new track record in the Production Bike Class during the 10th Annual REFUEL EV Track Event last weekend.
Hosted and created by Speed Ventures at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca since 2001, the track event is unique in many aspects. It is one of the few ways for bike enthusiasts to see electric vehicles compete on an intense race course that include both automobiles and motorcycles. The race is open to all individuals ranging from normal bikers to professionals.
The Italian manufacturer championed the race with the street-legal sportbike Energica Ego piloted by Energica Service Manager Chris Paz with a record of 1:48:750, erasing last year’s record of 1:49:558.
“I’m not a professional racer,” noted Chris, “and without question, in the right hands this EGO could easily break this new record all over again. I can hardly wait until next year!”
“The Ego is already our most powerful and best-selling bike,” says Livia Cevolini, CEO of Energica Motor Company S.p.A. “And this new result in California is another confirmation that Dorna has made the right choice in selecting the Energica Ego as the base for the electric racebike for MotoE™ World Cup.”
