Italian Volt reveals premium customizable electric bike Lacama

Italian Volt reveals premium customizable electric bike Lacama

Electric vehicles are at the top of two-wheeler industry considering its large market and its great prospects for the future. Although one thing for sure is that with the addition of technology and upgrades, the price is certain to incline upwards due to the cost of batteries and other components. However, prices have seen a decline and there is no doubt that electric bikes are a strong competitor to the conventional bikes.

Price is an important factor but the competitive nature of the bike can also come in various forms. Italian Volt, that advantage stems from the form of luxury and scarcity with its new electric bike Lacama.

The Italian firm was founded by Nicola Colombo and Valerio Fumagalli after the pair completed an epic 7,692mi (12,379km) journey from Shanghai to Milan using electric bikes. After four years of work, the Lacama premium electric motorcycle is ready for its debut.

The bike has the ability to achieve a top speed of 180km/h (112mph) with a maximum power of 70 kW (94 hp) and a peak toque of 208 Nm (153 ft-lbs). It is certainly fast. Not to mention, it can achieve a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of just 4.6 seconds.

It features a 15.1 kWh Li-ion battery and is rated for 2,000 charge cycles. It can be recharged from 0 to 100% with a Level 2 AC 6 kW charger, or in just 40 minutes using a DC fast charge CCS standard. It also includes both a water and air-cooled heat management system. The dashboard is a TFT touchscreen device that includes GPS navigation and pairs with a remote app (iOS or Android) for additional remote controlling features.

“The uniqueness of our LACAMA motorcycle is that we do bespoke design and each piece is made to order based on our customer’s will. As of now, we have just started the pre-order campaign to help prioritise next year delivery as we will only manufacture 25 bikes which are almost already sold,” said Colombo.

The starting price for the bike is stated to be $,38,000 (RM153,022.20). Details of the production of the bike is scarce but we will keep you updated.
