After a disappointing weekend at the Australian Grand Prix (GP), Hakim Danish has now turned his full attention to the 2026 Malaysian GP to be held at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit (SIC). The young national rider is determined to give his best performance in front of thousands of local fans who are expected to flood the circuit during the race weekend.
According to ZK Racing, Hakim’s focus is now fully on preparing for the race on his home turf after his debut at Phillip Island did not turn out as planned.
Phillip Island Ends in Disappointment
At the Australian GP, Hakim faced the challenge of finding the best pace in the challenging track conditions, which saw the 19-year-old finish in 25th place in qualifying.
However, the chance to improve his position on race day was swept away when all MotoGP races were cancelled due to bad weather conditions, ending a difficult weekend for the Terengganu-born rider. Now, all focus is on Sepang with the hope of starting a new chapter in front of his home fans.

Malaysian GP Becomes An Important Stage for Hakim
The Sepang race is not just an opportunity to collect championship points, but also the best arena for Hakim to prove his ability to compete alongside the world’s best racers in front of Malaysian fans.
Hakim also has positive memories at the Sepang Circuit when he appeared on a wildcard ticket previously. In that appearance, he automatically qualified for Qualifying 2 (Q2) before starting the race from 12th place.
However, the chance to finish in the top 10 was crushed when his machine suffered a technical problem with five laps remaining. The experience has now fueled his enthusiasm to return with a better performance at this year’s Malaysian GP.
Focus on Training and Qualification
Recognizing the importance of starting position in the ever-competitive Moto3 race, Hakim paid special attention to the free practice and qualifying sessions.
A better grid position is seen as being able to increase his chances of competing with the front group and chasing more encouraging results in Sepang.
ZK Racing believes that racing in Malaysia will be the best platform to showcase Hakim’s development and maturity throughout his first season in the Moto3 World Championship.

Hakim Can’t Wait To Perform In Front Of Home Supporters
Ahead of the race in Sepang, Hakim admitted that he was excited to return to racing in front of Malaysian fans and wanted to give his best for the team and the country.
“This is my home race week, and I am very happy and excited to compete at the Malaysian Grand Prix. I am certainly feeling even more motivated to race and cannot wait to get out on track this weekend. Of course, I want to give my very best for the team, Malaysia, my family and everyone who has supported me. I hope to perform at my best throughout the weekend,” said Hakim Danish.
Additional Motivation From Supporters
SIC Racing Team Manager, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, believes that the advantage of competing at home turf can give Hakim an extra boost of motivation to perform even better.
According to him, victory at the Czech Republic GP this season proved Hakim has the ability to compete at the highest level and that confidence needs to be carried over to Sepang.
“Racing on home soil will undoubtedly provide Hakim Danish with extra motivation. He knows the support from Malaysian fans will be tremendous, and we hope he can use that support as an additional source of motivation to deliver his best performance throughout the weekend.
Danish has already demonstrated his ability this season, including securing victory at the Czech Grand Prix. We want him to carry that confidence into Sepang, work hard in every session and make the most of every opportunity to achieve the best possible result.
Most importantly, we want Danish to enjoy racing in front of his home supporters, remain focused and give everything he has from the very first practice session. We hope this weekend will be a proud and memorable experience for him and all motorsport fans across the country.”
With meticulous preparation, experience in Sepang and the strong support from local fans, Hakim Danish is now ready to chase positive results and show his best performance to Malaysian fans at the 2026 Malaysian GP.
