Yamaha has introduced the updated 2027 MT-125, giving its smallest Naked bike a fresh new look inspired by the latest MT family while adding more technology and everyday usability. The latest model builds on the success of the lightweight naked bike with styling cues borrowed from its larger siblings, alongside several equipment upgrades aimed at new and experienced riders alike.
Sharper MT Family Styling
The biggest visual change comes at the front, where the 2027 MT-125 adopts a more aggressive appearance influenced by the latest MT-07. The redesigned LED headlight assembly and revised bodywork create a more muscular and modern stance while maintaining the compact proportions that have made the bike popular.
The new styling reinforces Yamaha’s “Dark Side of Japan” design philosophy, giving the MT-125 a stronger road presence despite its small-displacement engine.

New TFT Display With Smartphone Connectivity
One of the most significant upgrades is the addition of a 5-inch full-colour TFT display, replacing the previous LCD unit. The new screen offers a clearer interface and supports smartphone connectivity through Yamaha’s MyRide app.
Once paired with a smartphone, riders can access call and message notifications while enjoying a more modern dashboard layout similar to larger Yamaha MT models.
Added Safety Through Traction Control
Yamaha has also improved rider confidence by equipping the 2027 MT-125 with traction control as standard. The system helps maintain rear-wheel grip during acceleration, especially when riding on wet or slippery roads.
The addition complements the bike’s lightweight chassis and is expected to make the MT-125 even more approachable for newer riders.

Proven 125cc Performance Remains
Power continues to come from Yamaha’s 125cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine featuring Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. The engine delivers strong low-end torque while maintaining performance at higher revs, paired with a six-speed gearbox for everyday commuting and spirited riding alike.
The motorcycle retains its lightweight handling characteristics, making it suitable for urban environments while still offering enough performance for weekend rides.
Three Colour Options Available
The refreshed MT-125 will be offered in four factory colour schemes:
- Cyan Storm
- Icon Blue
- Tech Black
- Redline White

A More Premium Entry Into the Entry-Level Naked Bike Range
With a sharper design, improved connectivity, and additional safety technology, the 2027 Yamaha MT-125 offers a more premium experience without changing the formula that has made it one of the most recognisable motorcycles in the entry-level naked segment.
The latest updates ensure the MT-125 remains competitive against rivals while bringing many of the features found on Yamaha’s larger MT models to riders entering the world of motorcycling.
