The RCB MotoKidz Championship continues to play a crucial role in shaping the future of Malaysian motorsports, with its annual selection session successfully held at Horizon Beranang Circuit on 4 March 2026.
First introduced in 2025, the programme has quickly established itself as an important grassroots platform for identifying and developing young riding talent. This year’s selection attracted 27 participants through online registration, all of whom underwent a thorough screening process based on eligibility criteria before advancing to the on-track evaluation stage.

Structured evaluation identifies future stars
The selection session followed a comprehensive assessment format designed to evaluate each rider’s true potential. The process was divided into two key components: Basic Riding and Full Riding.
The Basic Riding segment focused on essential skills such as bike control, balance, and rider confidence, while the Full Riding session assessed more advanced abilities including racing lines, throttle control, and overall track consistency.
Through this structured approach, organisers ZK Racing successfully identified young riders with strong fundamentals and promising potential for competitive development.
At the end of the selection, six riders were chosen to join the 2026 RCB MotoKidz Championship development programme:
- Muhammad Danish Darwish Bin Erwan Shah
- Mikael Bin Muslihin
- Muhammad Z Malique bin Muhammad Iskandar Z
- Uwais Bin Abdulmuiz
- Kiden Khoo Yun Shen
- Mohammad Raimi Bin Mohd Shubli

Building a stronger grassroots-to-elite pathway
The RCB MotoKidz Championship serves as a continuation of the MotoMini Malaysia talent development ecosystem, focusing on structured progression from grassroots to higher levels of competition.
For the 2026 season, eight riders from the previous year will return, raising the level of competition and providing a more competitive environment for developing racers.
Meanwhile, Fayyadh Anaqi, the Overall Champion of the 2025 RCB MotoMini Championship, will take the next step in his career by moving up to the SIC Ohvale Junior Championship (110cc category), a clear example of the pathway created for young talents.

Strong industry support drives development
As the title sponsor, RCB continues to demonstrate its commitment to nurturing young riders and strengthening Malaysia’s two-wheel motorsports scene. The championship is also backed by UMA Racing, playing a key role as a strategic partner in advancing talent development.
This collaboration reflects a broader vision of building a sustainable and competitive motorsports ecosystem, positioning Malaysia as a regional hub for developing two-wheel racing talent.

Positive outlook for 2026 season
Championship Director Zulfahmi Khairuddin praised the overall quality of participants and expressed optimism for the upcoming season.
“From the selection session, all riders showed good basic riding abilities and handled the machines well. Some are still adapting to full track conditions, which is completely normal at this stage and can be improved with proper training and exposure.”
“We see strong potential in these young riders and believe they can develop well in a competitive environment. We are looking forward to a more exciting and competitive 2026 season.”
He also extended his appreciation to key partners and encouraged greater participation from parents.
“I would like to thank RCB and UMA Racing for their continued support in developing grassroots motorsports. For parents who are interested in introducing their children to the sport, feel free to reach out to us, we are always ready to assist and guide.”
