Hank Vossberg Wins MotoAmerica Twins Cup for Aprilia

Young American rider dominates Race 1 and secures podium in Race 2 at Daytona aboard the Aprilia RS 660.

Aprilia enjoyed a strong start to the 2026 season in the MotoAmerica Twins Cup, with rising star Hank Vossberg delivering an impressive performance at the opening round held at the iconic Daytona International Speedway.

Competing for Robem Engineering, the 15-year-old rider immediately showed strong pace from the opening practice sessions, quickly adapting to the Aprilia RS 660.

Starting seventh on the grid, Vossberg delivered a remarkable ride in Race 1, charging through the field before breaking away from the lead group to secure a dominant victory. He crossed the finish line with a 4.446-second advantage over his nearest rival and also recorded the fastest lap of the race with a time of 1:56.846.

The young American continued his strong form in Race 2, which was shortened to six laps following a red flag incident. Despite the challenging conditions, Vossberg fought hard in a tightly contested battle and eventually finished third, just 0.058 seconds behind the race winner. The results place him second in the championship standings, only four points behind the leader after the opening round.

The Daytona weekend also highlighted the competitiveness of the RS 660 across the grid, with twenty Aprilia machines lining up in the Twins Cup, accounting for more than half of the field.

Another standout performance came from Chris Parrish of Ghetto Customs, who secured the first pole position of the season with a lap time of 1:57.625. Parrish went on to deliver a solid performance in Race 1, finishing inside the top five.

Reflecting on his weekend, Vossberg said he was pleased with the overall result despite the challenges in the second race.

“Race 1 went really well. We got a great start and stayed with the lead group. I made a move to get to the front and tried to break away while maintaining a strong pace,” he said.

“Everything clicked, and I tried to repeat that in Race 2, but the red flag situation caused higher rear tyre pressure. The bike was sliding quite a lot, and they managed to catch me in the final laps. Overall though, it’s a positive result. We scored good points and that’s what matters.”

With a win and a podium already under his belt, Vossberg’s strong start signals that both the rider and the Aprilia RS 660 could be major contenders in this year’s MotoAmerica Twins Cup championship.
