The Winter Test for the Moto3 World Championship, held at Circuito de Jerez from 14 to 15 February 2026, proved to be a significant learning milestone for Hakim Danish as he prepares for his debut season in the Moto3 class.
The two-day session offered valuable track time for Hakim to deepen his understanding of the Moto3 machine and continue adapting to the heightened level of competition at world championship level. Beyond outright lap times, the focus centred on building confidence, refining riding technique and responding to technical adjustments made by the team.
Midway through the test, Hakim was involved in a crash that caused substantial damage to the motorcycle. Fortunately, he escaped without injury. However, the incident disrupted the planned programme, limiting his track time while the team worked intensively to repair the bike and return him to the circuit.
As a result, several key elements of the technical evaluation and setup programme could not be fully completed. Despite this setback, the session remains a constructive step in Hakim’s adaptation process. Each lap completed provided important data and feedback to strengthen the connection between rider and machine.
Like most teams during pre-season testing, the emphasis extended beyond pure performance gains. The Winter Test focused equally on enabling Hakim to adapt quickly to the technical demands and riding characteristics of a Moto3 machine. Understanding setup changes, fine-tuning riding inputs and building overall feel were central objectives throughout the two days.
The Jerez test also served as final preparation ahead of the season opener at Chang International Circuit, Thailand, scheduled from 27 February to 1 March 2026. Both Hakim and the team remain committed to making steady progress and building momentum as the 2026 campaign begins.
Reflecting on the test, Hakim confirmed he suffered no serious injuries following the crash and acknowledged there is still considerable room for improvement, particularly in understanding the bike and refining his riding style. He described the session as essential for gathering information and developing overall confidence with the machine.
Looking ahead to Round 1 in Thailand, Hakim anticipates different weather and track conditions, expressing hope that the environment there will support his continued adaptation and allow him to take another step forward in performance.
With valuable lessons learned at Jerez, Hakim now turns his attention to the opening round, determined to build steadily through his debut Moto3 season.
