It’s undeniable. Small-displacement retro motorcycles are enjoying a major resurgence, captivating riders with their timeless charm and modern functionality. Across the globe, they’re flying off the shelves, especially in the UK, where Honda’s GB350S has quickly become a fan favorite.
In fact, the GB350S isn’t just popular. It’s the UK’s top-selling modern classic, with Brit motorcycle site Visordown even naming it the Best A2 Bike of 2025. But while its standard model is already a looker, a bespoke edition from Doble Motorcycles has taken things to an entirely new level.
A Custom Twist on a Classic
Doble Motorcycles, a well-known Surrey-based shop, has built a solid reputation for creating unique, custom motorcycles by teaming up with skilled designers and paint specialists. This time, they’ve partnered with Dream Machine from Nottingham, renowned for their meticulous craftsmanship and eye-catching finishes.
The result? A stunning, one-off Honda GB350S that looks almost too good to ride. The bike features a bespoke Candy Toffee Apple Red Metallic tank paired with a rich toffee-toned leather seat: a combination so striking that it elevates the bike’s classic styling to new heights.
The color, aptly named “Candy Toffee Apple Red Metallic,” matches the bike’s playful personality. And the tan leather saddle perfectly complements it, making the bike not just a machine, but a work of art. With these two key touches, Doble Motorcycles has created a motorcycle that’s as much about the aesthetic experience as it is about performance.

Retro Styling Meets Modern Features
Of course, the GB350S was already a good-looking bike right out of the factory, boasting iconic retro elements like the round headlamp, vintage-style gauges, and the teardrop-shaped fuel tank that calls back to the golden age of motorcycles. The custom design, however, injects fresh life into those familiar features, making it impossible to look away.
But the GB350S is more than just a pretty face. Beneath its nostalgic exterior, it’s packed with modern tech and performance. The air-cooled, 348cc single-cylinder engine delivers 21 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 21 ft-lbs of torque at 3,000 rpm, offering a punchy and engaging ride. And with a seat height of just 31.5 inches and a lightweight frame (weighing in at 392 pounds), it’s a bike that’s both approachable and fun.
Riders will also appreciate its range of features designed to enhance the riding experience. From the assist/slipper clutch to Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), LED lighting, and ABS, the GB350S is packed with tech that makes it feel far more advanced than its price tag of £3,999 (roughly $5,500 USD) might suggest.
A Ride That’s Almost Impossible to Find
As beautiful as it is, this custom GB350S is a one-off, built specifically for a customer with an eye for detail and an appreciation for exclusivity. While it’s unlikely that we’ll see a similar edition in the US anytime soon, Honda’s GB350S itself remains a coveted machine on the other side of the pond. Unfortunately, it’s still difficult to find in the US, but here’s hoping that changes in the near future.
In the meantime, if you’re itching for a retro-inspired bike with some serious character, Honda’s SCL500 might be worth a look. It offers that same classic scrambler vibe, but it’s available in a more traditional black, giving you a more accessible entry into the world of retro motorcycles without all the bells and whistles of the custom GB350S.
Until then, we’ll just have to admire the GB350S from afar and dream of the day when it might make its way across the Atlantic.
