The team entered a milestone season with Jack Miller’s experience, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu’s MotoGP debut, and Yamaha’s new V4-powered YZR-M1.

Set against the timeless backdrop of Siena’s historic centre, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP has officially launched its 2026 MotoGP campaign at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana, just steps away from the iconic Piazza del Campo. The presentation marks the team’s second season as Yamaha’s satellite factory operation and a key transition year in terms of riders, machinery, and long-term objectives.

The launch also coincides with two major milestones for the organisation: 25 years of competition in MotoGP and 60 years as a company. While the ceremonial setting reflected the team’s heritage, the focus for 2026 is firmly on consolidation and structured development as Yamaha’s MotoGP project enters its next phase.

Having laid important groundwork during the first year of its technical partnership with Yamaha, Prima Pramac Yamaha continues in its role as the brand’s second factory team. The objective remains unchanged: to contribute directly to Yamaha’s broader push to return to consistent front-running competitiveness in the premier class.

Experience Meets a New Era

The 2026 rider line-up blends experience with adaptation. Australian Jack Miller remains with the team, while Toprak Razgatlıoğlu makes his highly anticipated MotoGP debut after a decorated career in WorldSBK.

Miller’s continuity is viewed as a cornerstone of the project. The Townsville native brings extensive MotoGP experience across multiple manufacturers and already has a full season of Yamaha machinery under his belt. His role in development and feedback is especially crucial as Yamaha commits to a new technical direction.

Razgatlıoğlu’s arrival is one of the standout stories of the 2026 season. The three-time World Superbike Champion became the first Turkish rider to compete in MotoGP, bringing his trademark aggressive and instinctive riding style to the premier class. His transition will be closely watched throughout the year.

Team and Rider Perspectives

Paolo Campinoti, Team Principal of Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP, described 2026 as a defining year. “The 2026 season is a special milestone for us as we celebrate 25 years in MotoGP. We are fully focused on continuing the progress required by this ambitious partnership with Yamaha, now in its second year.”

Miller echoed the importance of continuity and development. “Coming back with the same crew makes a big difference. Last year was a proper learning year with Yamaha, and now with the V4 as our race bike, it feels like a fresh chapter with real belief behind the project.”

For Razgatlıoğlu, the emphasis is firmly on adaptation. “This is a new chapter in my career. My main objective this season is development, understanding MotoGP, the bike, and building consistency race by race. Results matter, but the process is the priority.”

Yamaha YZR-M1 Enters a New Chapter

Central to the 2026 campaign is Yamaha’s revised YZR-M1, now powered by a 1000cc V4 engine, marking a historic shift away from Yamaha’s long-standing inline-four philosophy. The new machine produces over 275 horsepower and features Öhlins suspension, forged magnesium wheels, and Brembo braking components, while meeting MotoGP’s 157 kg minimum weight limit. The aluminium Delta Box frame remains, with adjustable steering geometry retained.

For Prima Pramac Yamaha, the second year of the partnership is expected to deliver increasing returns through structured development, expanded data acquisition, and closer integration with Yamaha’s factory operation.
