A rare Valentino Rossi racing suit and helmet, personally worn by the MotoGP legend, have been successfully auctioned off after being donated to UNICEF by Dainese. The exclusive set drew global interest from collectors, eventually fetching an impressive €38,200 (RM182,653) when the auction closed on Sunday, November 30 at 12:01 AM on Ebay.

Rossi, one of the most iconic figures in motorcycle racing, continues to influence collectors’ markets worldwide. Items associated with him often command high value, but this particular set stood out even more. The black-and-gold racing suit and matching helmet were created to celebrate Rossi’s 46th birthday earlier this year.

The suit is a limited-edition Demone GP D-air 3X by Dainese, while the helmet was specially produced by AGV. Only 46 sets were ever made in tribute to Rossi’s signature racing number, with the auctioned set being the highly coveted 01/46. Adding to its rarity, Rossi personally wore the suit and helmet during a track day at the iconic Mugello circuit.

All proceeds from the auction will support UNICEF’s Road Safety programme, a global initiative working to protect children from road accidents. According to UNICEF, more than 600 children aged 5 to 19 die on the world’s roads every day. The programme focuses on advocating for safer speed limits around schools, improved pedestrian facilities, safer crossings, and stricter enforcement of helmet and child-seat regulations.

The sale marks yet another high-value Rossi collectible to hit the market this year. In a separate auction earlier in 2025, the BMW M4 GT3 Rossi drove during his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans sold for a staggering £561,480 (RM3,070,112), far exceeding expectations.
