National rider Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin has claimed the 2025 Asian Motorcycle Championship (ARRC) SuperSports 600cc (SS600) title following a dramatic finale at the Chang International Circuit. The championship was decided in Race 2, the sixth and final round of the season. Despite finishing fourth in the race, Kasma’s consistent performance throughout the season was enough for him to secure the overall crown for Hong Leong Yamaha Racing.
Race 2 saw home favourite Thanat Laoongplio of Honda Racing Thailand take a sensational victory, crossing the line in 20’07.296s, while Kasma celebrated his season-long consistency with the championship title. The race began with a strong launch from Anupab Sarmoon of Yamaha Thailand Racing Team, who initially led the pack before Kasma and Thanat surged ahead. By Lap 2, Apiwath Wongthananon of Yamaha TNP moved to the front, closely followed by Thanat and Kasma.
Further back, Mohammad Adenanta Putra of Astra Honda Racing Team carved through the pack with determination, overtaking both Kasma and Anupab to climb into third. The intensity built rapidly, with multiple lead changes between Apiwath, Thanat, Aldi, and Adenanta as the race entered its middle stages.

By Lap 6, Aldi Satya Mahendra of Yamaha Racing Indonesia stormed into second place and later captured the lead, compressing the front group into a tight six-rider battle. With the pace escalating, Thanat posted the fastest lap at 1’39.582s, rejoining the fight for the podium.
The championship took a dramatic turn on the final lap. After Anupab made a bold move to retake the lead, Adenanta executed a brilliant overtake and momentarily looked set to win both the race and potentially the title. But heartbreak struck, Adenanta crashed out, ending his podium hopes and title chase in a devastating twist.
The chaos opened the door for Thanat, who swept past to claim his first victory of the season on home soil with a time of 20’07.296s. Aldi secured second, and Anupab completed the podium in third.
Despite finishing off the podium, Kasma Daniel’s strategic race approach and season-long consistency secured him the 2025 SS600 Championship Title. He tied with Anupab at 167 points, but Kasma claimed the crown by virtue of stronger overall results throughout the season. Adenanta, despite his late crash, finished third overall with 152 points.
Thanat, emotional after his long-awaited win, said: “I have waited for this moment for so long! Winning on my home soil makes it even more meaningful. This one is for everyone who believed in me.”
Kasma, overwhelmed after sealing the championship, shared: “This is truly a gift from Allah. I was nervous the whole race, just trying to stay safe and hope for the best. Even without a podium today, we secured the title. Alhamdulillah.”
In the team standings, Hong Leong Yamaha Racing dominated with 267 points, ahead of Idemitsu Honda Racing Malaysia and Honda Racing Thailand.
