A Colorado inventor has developed a new device designed to prevent a growing but often overlooked problem for riders: the theft of motorcycle seats. The innovation, called Seat Savers, uses a barrel-style locking mechanism created specifically to secure high-value motorcycle seats against tampering and removal.
The inventor, based in Aurora, said the idea originated from a desire for a simple yet highly secure solution for riders who worry about leaving their bikes unattended. “I wanted to create a specially designed barrel-style lock to protect an expensive motorcycle seat against theft,” he explained. “My goal was to stop seat removal attempts entirely.”
A New Layer of Protection for Riders
The patent-pending mechanism enhances security by locking the seat more effectively than traditional factory latches. Once installed, Seat Savers prevents unauthorised removal, offering reassurance for owners who park their motorcycles in public spaces or overnight.
According to its creator, the design makes the device secure, durable, and easy for riders to install and operate. It prioritises practicality, allowing riders to use it every day without adding complexity to routine motorcycle maintenance.
