Honda HRC pair eye strong 2025 finale in Valencia

Honda HRC targets a strong finish in Valencia as Luca Marini and Joan Mir close out MotoGP 2025. This is Honda’s most competitive season since 2019, with podiums and renewed momentum.

The longest MotoGP season in history nears its conclusion, with Honda HRC Castrol charging into Valencia after a year marked by resurgence, resilience, and real progress. Riders Luca Marini and Joan Mir aim to finish strong and cement Honda’s most competitive campaign in six years.

A Year of Rebuilding and Reward

Across 22 rounds, Honda HRC’s steady revival has been impossible to ignore. With one victory and three additional podium finishes, the Japanese manufacturer has signalled a long-awaited turnaround in performance and consistency. The team’s tireless development of the RC213V has begun to pay off, laying down a foundation for even greater gains in 2026.

Valencia, the 4.01-kilometre technical circuit that traditionally closes the season, offers one last opportunity for Honda to underline its progress and tie a final bow on its comeback story.

Marini: Honda’s Consistent Contender

For Luca Marini, the numbers tell a powerful story. With 133 championship points, the Italian has nearly multiplied his 2024 tally tenfold, despite missing three rounds through injury. A constant threat within the top ten and often the top five, Marini has delivered both results and vital technical feedback to Honda’s engineers.

Now, as the season finale approaches, Marini sits just 11 points behind Johann Zarco in the battle for top Honda honours.

Mir: Restored Confidence and Renewed Drive

Joan Mir, too, has enjoyed a season of tangible progress. Despite a pair of DNFs in Portugal, the 2020 World Champion has secured over four times the points of his previous year and stepped onto the podium twice. After missing the 2023 Valencia GP and seeing the 2024 edition cancelled, this will be Mir’s long-awaited return to the Spanish circuit.

Eyes on the Future

While the chequered flag in Valencia marks the end of the 2025 season, MotoGP’s relentless pace means there’s little time to rest. Just two days later, teams will return to the circuit for the first official 2026 pre-season test, the next chapter in Honda’s rebuilding journey.

After a long road of redevelopment and recalibration, the 2025 season stands as a turning point for Honda HRC. For Marini, Mir, and the entire Castrol-backed squad, the mission in Valencia is clear: finish strong, confirm the progress, and carry the momentum straight into a new era.
