BMW riders delivered a masterclass performance at the 57th Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix, securing an all-BMW podium at the legendary Guia Circuit. Davey Todd on the #8 BMW M 1000 RR of Zeeco BMW Motorrad led the charge, claiming victory after topping both practice and qualifying, while teammates Peter Hickman and Erno Kostamo completed the podium in second and third places.

This marks Todd’s second Macau win. Last year, heavy rain forced the cancellation of the actual race, and podium places were awarded based on qualifying results. Despite delays this year due to weather, the 12-lap race ran as scheduled, and Todd dominated from pole, crossing the finish line with a ten-second advantage.

Hickman, a four-time Macau GP winner, made a strong return from injury to secure second, while Kostamo, 2022 winner and last year’s runner-up, held third after a small early-race error allowed Hickman to pass.

Six BMW M 1000 RR machines finished within the top ten, showcasing the bike’s dominance on the challenging urban circuit. Italian debutant Maurizio Bottalico impressed with sixth place, while Davo Johnson and Phillip Crowe finished seventh and tenth respectively.

Sven Blusch, Head of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, said: “Congratulations to Davey Todd, Peter Hickman, Erno Kostamo and everyone involved on this outstanding end to the season. Despite Peter’s injury challenges, the riders and teams have delivered an incredible performance. The many top-10 finishes underline the exceptional capabilities of our M 1000 RR on the demanding Guia Circuit. We look forward to continuing our success in 2026.”

Davey Todd added: “I was joking with Pete that I now have one and a half Macau wins! It’s amazing to prove myself after last year’s win wasn’t a proper race. The pace all week was excellent, and the team did a fantastic job. I’m excited to return next year to push for even more.”

Peter Hickman reflected: “I’m happy to show I still have the pace. Being just a couple of tenths behind Davey at this stage in my recovery is a great feeling. A 1-2 finish for Zeeco BMW Motorrad, it doesn’t get better than this.”

Erno Kostamo said: “Qualifying went well after struggles in free practice, and while the race was tough, I’m happy with third place.”

The 57th Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix demonstrated BMW’s continued dominance in road racing, with the M 1000 RR proving once again to be a formidable machine on one of the world’s most demanding street circuits.
