The GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team returns to action this weekend, 10–12 October, at Circuito Estoril in Portugal for the penultimate round of the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship. After a solid performance at MotorLand Aragón, riders Remy Gardner and Dominique Aegerter are eager to continue their momentum and close the season on a high note.

Following back-to-back rounds that wrap up the 2025 season ,first at Estoril and then at Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto in Spain ,both riders aim to deliver strong finishes at circuits that have historically favored the Yamaha squad. The team has achieved podiums and competitive results at both venues, showcasing the potential of the YZF-R1 machine.

Last year in Portugal, the team faced a challenging weekend. Gardner’s campaign was cut short after an incident in Race 1 forced him to withdraw, while Aegerter, still recovering from injury, demonstrated impressive pace despite limited track time. This year, both riders return stronger, more experienced, and motivated to capitalize on Estoril’s fast and technical layout.

Weather could play a crucial role throughout the weekend, as Estoril is known for its unpredictable conditions. However, the team remains confident and well-prepared for any scenario as they look to close the season with positive results.

After Friday’s free practice and Superpole qualifying, Race 1 is set for Saturday at 14:00 local time (CEST). The Superpole Race will take place Sunday at 11:00, followed by Race 2 at 14:00.

Remy Gardner: Confident Ahead of Estoril Challenge

“We’re ready to approach the season finale aiming for strong results in both Portugal and Spain — two circuits that should suit our bike well and where the team has been competitive in the past. Unfortunately, last year I couldn’t complete the Estoril weekend and we didn’t have too much time on the dry, but I’m confident we can be fast this time. The weather can change quickly there, so we’ll stay prepared for any conditions.”

Dominique Aegerter: Focused on a Strong Finish

“I’m really looking forward to a good round at Estoril and then in Jerez the following week, two tracks where we’ve had great results before, including podiums. I want to finish my journey with the team in the best possible way, so I’ll give it everything — and I know everyone will do the same, starting this weekend. Last year I was still recovering from injury, but now I feel much stronger and confident we can be competitive. The forecast looks dry, but we know how quickly things can change, so we’ll stay ready for whatever comes.”
