Continental has launched the TKC 802, an all-new generation of its legendary off-road tyre that has defined the adventure segment for more than 40 years. Designed from the ground up to meet the demands of today’s powerful travel enduros, the TKC 802 delivers a perfect balance of on-road stability and off-road dominance. A true 50/50 adventure tyre built for riders who refuse to compromise.

A Reinvention of a Legend

The original TKC 80 became a benchmark for global adventure riding. It trusted from the deserts of Morocco to the Andes of South America. With the TKC 802, Continental takes everything learned over four decades and combines it with the latest tyre engineering and compound technology.

Modern adventure motorcycles like the BMW R 1300 GS, KTM 1290 Super Adventure, and Honda Africa Twin demand more than ever: stronger grip, greater stability, longer life, and dependable control on all terrains. The new TKC 802 rises to the challenge with a completely new tread pattern, advanced carcass design, and a fresh rubber compound developed for both endurance and adaptability.

Tread Design Built for Real-World Adventure

The TKC 802’s tread blocks have been redesigned and repositioned to maximise traction in sand, gravel, and mud. Larger, offset blocks with staggered outer lugs improve mechanical grip and ensure exceptional self-cleaning, critical for maintaining traction in soft terrain.

Distinct front and rear block geometries deliver precise control:

  • Front tyre: forward-angled blocks enhance braking stability and steering feel on loose surfaces.
  • Rear tyre: reversed pattern delivers superior drive and acceleration out of corners and climbs.

The result is a tyre that feels planted and predictable, whether carving asphalt switchbacks or powering through deep ruts.

Engineered for 50/50 Performance

Continental has designed the TKC 802 to be a true dual-purpose tyre, engineered for equal confidence on and off-road.

A new carcass structure improves damping and load stability, essential for heavy adventure bikes carrying full luggage at highway speeds. The tyre’s optimised contact patch enhances straight-line composure while maintaining flexibility and shock absorption on rough tracks.

New Compound, New Confidence

At the heart of the TKC 802 is a next-generation rubber compound that blends durability with wet-weather security. Leveraging Continental’s RainGrip technology, the compound adapts to micro-textures on the road surface. It provides superior adhesion even in cold or wet conditions.

It also boasts impressive puncture resistance and abrasion durability, ensuring long life on extended expeditions, whether crossing continents or tackling local backcountry discovery routes.

Ready for Every Adventure

The TKC 802 will be available from spring 2026 in a wide range of sizes:

  • Front: 19-inch and 21-inch (four options)
  • Rear: 17-inch and 18-inch (six options)

It fits major adventure motorcycles from BMW, KTM, Honda, Yamaha, Ducati, and more, easily identifiable by a new sidewall icon symbolising its next-generation design.

The Next Chapter of Adventure

From remote trails to endless highways, the Continental TKC 802 promises to carry on the legacy of its predecessor but with sharper performance, higher endurance, and smarter design. It’s not just a tyre; it’s an invitation to ride further, harder, and with complete confidence in every condition.
