Chigee CG2 Wireless Charging Phone Holder. A neat, heavy-duty phone mount with fast wireless charging and smart vibration dampening. Tested on SV650 and Malaysian road.

When I was testing Chigee’s other kit I noticed they also make a wireless charging phone holder. I was curious, so they sent over the CG2 Phone Holder and I fitted it to a Suzuki SV650 to see how it handled daily use and harder riding. There are a lot of phone holders on the market, from a few ringgit to a few hundred, but the CG2 leans toward the premium side. After a couple of weeks on the road, here’s what I liked and what you should know.

First Impression and Build

Out of the box the CG2 looks well made. The body is anodised aluminium, fully adjustable, and the whole unit feels solid rather than plastic-y. Under the cradle there is a plate with four rubber pads to damp high-frequency vibration so your phone does not get rattled to bits over rough surfaces. The finish and attention to detail give it a premium look that blends in with modern instrument clusters.

The CG2 supports wireless charging and also offers a wired option through a USB-C port on the back. Chigee claims fast wireless charging up to 25W depending on your phone, and in my tests the unit charged my phone noticeably faster than standard 5W pads when the conditions were right.

Fitment and Installation

Installation was straightforward. The CG2 ships with a full set of spacers and mounting accessories so it will fit most bikes. I bolted it onto the SV650 using the included handlebar mounting hardware, connected the power through the round connector and wired it to the bike’s electrical system. There is also the option to tap a switched ignition feed so the charger only powers up with the key.

Putting a phone in and taking it out is fast and elegant. The holder’s arms lock automatically around the phone and release with a press, so you do not have to wrestle the device while wearing gloves. The package also includes vibration-damping pieces and a rubber stabiliser clip that helps keep the unit steady during bumpy stretches or mild wheelies, which is useful if you like to ride spiritedly.

Charging Modes and Performance

There are two ways to power your phone on the CG2. The first is wireless: the holder has an auto-centering charging ring that lines up with different phone sizes and helps the coil sit in the right spot for efficient charging. Chigee advertises fast wireless charging up to 25W for compatible phones, and a wired USB-C port at the back gives you an alternate fast-charging route if needed.

On a few rides the wireless charging kept my phone topped up while running navigation and playing music. As with all wireless chargers, real-world speed depends on the phone model, case thickness and exact alignment, but overall the CG2 performed well and stayed cooler than some cheap pads I have tried.

Stability, Vibration Control and Waterproofing

One of the CG2’s strong points is stability. The self-locking arm structure is robust, and Chigee says the design can withstand high wind speeds. More importantly to me, the floating shock absorption and three-axis suspension isolators reduce vibration between the phone and the bike. That silicone isolation really cuts down on the small, high-frequency shakes that can wear a phone down over time.

The unit carries an IP67 rating so it is built to survive rain and road spray. In wet rides the CG2 kept working and my phone stayed dry and secure in the cradle.

Price and Verdict

At RM545 from Chigee.com the CG2 is not cheap, but the price fits the build quality and feature set. You are paying for a well-engineered unit that combines fast charging, reliable locking, good vibration isolation and weather protection. If you want the cheapest holder possible, this is not for you. If you want a tidy, durable solution that keeps your phone charged and protected on daily commutes and spirited rides, the CG2 is a strong option.
