In a move to strengthen road safety awareness among Malaysia’s growing community of delivery riders, Allianz Malaysia Berhad, through its Allianz4Good initiative, recently organised the P-hailing Bikers Safety & Emergency Survival Programme. The training was held at MISAR Academy, Kampung Pandan. It brought together riders from foodpanda and Lalamove for two impactful sessions on 17 July and 23 August 2025.

The programme, conducted in collaboration with the Road Safety Marshal Club (RSMC), combined theory and hands-on practice in a four-hour session that focused on safer riding habits, road hazard awareness, and emergency first-response techniques. Participants learned how to handle real-life crises. This includes administering basic first aid and performing self-assessments in the aftermath of an accident.

Empowering Frontliners of the Road

Delivery riders continue to serve as an essential link in Malaysia’s daily logistics chain. Thus, Allianz Malaysia recognises the need to enhance their safety and resilience. The training emphasised the importance of defensive riding, accident prevention, and quick decision-making under pressure. This helps riders develop confidence and competence on the road.

“Allianz4Good’s goal is to go beyond financial protection. We want to equip communities with the skills and knowledge that save lives,” said a spokesperson for Allianz Malaysia. “Our p-hailing riders play a vital role in the modern economy. Ensuring their safety means protecting families, businesses, and communities as a whole.”

Collaboration for Safer Communities

The Road Safety Marshal Club is known for its advocacy in promoting responsible road use. It led the on-site demonstrations and guided participants through practical drills. The sessions encouraged active participation, enabling riders to learn by doing, from simulating accident responses to practising self-triage and assisting injured motorists.

RSMC representatives highlighted that continuous training and awareness-building are critical to reducing road accidents involving motorcyclists, who make up a significant proportion of Malaysia’s traffic casualties each year.
