Kawasaki has introduced a special edition of its popular Eliminator 400 cruiser for the Japanese market, called the Eliminator 400 Plaza Edition. Designed to offer improved aesthetics and unique features, this new variant distinguishes itself from the standard model with an exclusive colour scheme and cutting-edge tech never before seen on a production motorcycle.
Fresh Styling With a Premium Touch
The Plaza Edition stands out visually thanks to a striking maroon and black dual-tone paint scheme, a colour choice rarely associated with Kawasaki’s lineup. The rich maroon finish gives the cruiser a more upscale, distinctive look, ensuring it turns heads even among the brand’s traditionally bold designs.
First-Ever OEM GPS Dual-Camera System
Beyond the fresh paint, the Kawasaki Plaza Edition is equipped with several notable upgrades. A USB Type-C charging port provides modern convenience for riders needing to power devices on the go. But the real headline feature is the GPS-enabled dual-camera system, a first for any OEM motorcycle. Functioning much like a dashcam in a car, the system allows riders to record both front and rear views of their journey, adding a new layer of safety and functionality for daily rides or long-distance touring.
Familiar Performance Underneath
While the Plaza Edition gains cosmetic and feature enhancements, it retains the proven mechanical package of the standard Eliminator 400. The cruiser is built around the same chassis and runs on telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks, alloy wheels, and disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS. Other equipment includes LED lighting, traction control, turn-by-turn navigation, and a fully digital instrument panel with smartphone connectivity.
Power comes from a 451 cc, parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine producing 44.7 bhp and 42.6 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Despite its special-edition status, the Plaza Edition does not add performance hardware like upgraded suspension or a quickshifter.
Market Outlook
The Eliminator 400 Plaza Edition is currently exclusive to Japan, and Kawasaki has not indicated a global release. In India, the standard Eliminator is available only in black and competes with the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 in the mid-size cruiser segment.
With its distinctive maroon-and-black paint, USB-C charging, and an industry-first GPS dual-camera system, the Kawasaki Eliminator 400 Plaza Edition blends style and innovation in a way no other production cruiser currently offers, though for now, it remains a treat reserved for the Japanese market.
