Clear skies and dry asphalt on September 15 and the morning of September 16 allowed the factory squad to maximise track time. Despite rising afternoon temperatures, Vierge and his crew methodically worked through a program aimed at refining the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade setup for the final championship rounds, including the season finale at Jerez in October and the upcoming races at Motorland Aragón and Estoril.
The team concentrated on electronics development and a new swingarm, along with general chassis adjustments. The swingarm in particular delivered immediate gains, giving Vierge improved rear contact and more stability under braking, which helped him stop the bike and carry more confidence into corner entry.
Steady Progress, Remaining Challenges
While the new component provided a noticeable improvement, Vierge acknowledged that further work is needed to fully unlock its potential, particularly in corner-exit performance—an area that has been a recurring challenge for Honda. The team also noted that the extreme midday heat limited the quality of feedback during the final sessions, a factor they expect to revisit when conditions cool for the October race weekend.
Next Steps in the Championship
With this productive Jerez outing completed, Honda HRC will now shift focus to the tenth WorldSBK round at Motorland Aragón, scheduled for September 26–28. The data gathered at Jerez will inform setup choices not only for Aragón but also for the final two events of the season, giving Honda renewed confidence as it aims to close out 2025 on a competitive note.
Honda’s Jerez test delivered incremental but important gains, highlighted by the promising performance of a new swingarm and refined electronics. With valuable data in hand, the HRC squad enters the final three rounds of the 2025 WorldSBK season with a clearer direction and growing momentum.
