The Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP and MX2 squads are heading into the 17th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship with renewed determination. This time, the series returns to Arnhem, the Netherlands. For the Belgian- and Dutch-based teams, the event is practically a home race, bringing added motivation to deliver standout performances.

Arnhem: A Growing Stage in MXGP

Hosting the Dutch Grand Prix for only the third time, Arnhem’s sand-based circuit has quickly gained a reputation for its technical, rough layout. Many of the riders live or train in the region, making it a familiar yet unforgiving challenge.

MXGP: Vlaanderen, Renaux & Geerts Ready to Push

Calvin Vlaanderen (#10) enters Arnhem in top form, fresh from his third podium in recent weeks. The South African-born, half-Dutch rider is embracing the opportunity to shine on home soil. We can expect fan support to fuel his podium charge.

Teammate Maxime Renaux (#959) continues his recovery after an injury-hit season. His recent fourth-place finish suggests a podium return is within reach.

Meanwhile, Jago Geerts (#93) stages a much-anticipated comeback after missing Sweden with injury. A sand specialist with a proven record at Arnhem, Geerts aims to reset his 2025 campaign and fight his way back to the sharp end of the pack.

MX2: Trio Targeting Podium Glory

In MX2, Yamaha’s young guns are hungry for results. Thibault Benistant (#198) has already shown raw speed with four Qualifying Race wins this season. The rider is now targeting his first GP podium of 2025.

Dutch rider Rick Elzinga (#4) will enjoy the backing of home fans as he looks to turn local support into a breakthrough performance. Karlis Reisulis (#47), in his rookie season, has steadily progressed and aims for consistent top-10 finishes in Arnhem’s demanding sand.

WMX & EMX250: Local Stars on Display

The weekend also showcases the WMX World Championship, with Dutch sensation Lotte van Drunen carrying a slender six-point lead into Arnhem. She dominated the track with back-to-back 1-1 sweeps in 2023 and 2024. This time, she hopes to extend her advantage and keep her title defence on track.

In EMX250, Janis Reisulis (VHR VRT Yamaha Official EMX250) continues to lead the championship by 27 points. With just two rounds left, the Latvian teenager is riding with composure and determination, hoping to tighten his grip on the crown.

Looking Ahead

With multiple Yamaha riders carrying home support and momentum into Arnhem, the stage is set for a thrilling weekend. Between MXGP, MX2, WMX, and EMX250, the Dutch GP promises to deliver fireworks as the 2025 season barrels toward its final stretch.
