Rockstar Energy GASGAS Factory Racing’s Justin Barcia delivered a consistent performance at Round 9 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, securing ninth overall in the 450MX class with a pair of top-10 moto finishes at Ironman Raceway.

Barcia, aboard his GASGAS MC 450F Factory Edition, qualified 13th in tricky, hard-packed morning conditions. He then charged from near-last in Moto 1 after a gate incident, climbing to eighth at the finish. In Moto 2, a strong start was undone by an early shuffle and a costly mistake, but the 32-year-old fought back to ninth. His 8-9 scores placed him ninth overall on the day, as he continues to build momentum ahead of the SuperMotocross World Championship postseason.

“It was a wild and hot day at Ironman,” Barcia said. “The track was slippery in the morning, so we made changes after practice. In Moto 1, someone hit the gate next to me, which caused me to go early and start almost last. I fought back into the top 10, which was okay. Moto 2, I started well but got shuffled back and made a big mistake, losing positions. Still, we made good progress today – we’ll never stop fighting!”

With two rounds remaining, Barcia sits 13th in the 450MX standings on 138 points.

DiFrancesco Flashes Front-Running Speed in 250MX

In the 250MX class, teammate Ryder DiFrancesco showed race-leading pace despite a challenging set of results. The 20-year-old qualified ninth on his GASGAS MC 250F Factory Edition and went 17-15 for 15th overall, highlighted by running in fourth during the opening stages of Moto 2.

“Qualifying was good, and in Moto 2 I was right up in fourth for a few laps,” DiFrancesco said. “I just need to clean up mistakes and keep pushing forward before Unadilla and Budds Creek.”

DiFrancesco currently holds 13th in the 250MX championship with 128 points.
