Known for its avant-garde watches and obsession with precision, Richard Mille has taken a bold step into the world of motorcycles with the launch of the RMB 01, a limited-edition, high-performance machine co-developed with Brough Superior. The motorcycle made its global debut at the 2025 Le Mans Classic, instantly turning heads with its stripped-back aesthetic and rarefied engineering.

This is not a rebadged concept or a design vanity project. The RMB 01 is a purpose-built, functioning motorcycle. It brings together the mechanical mastery of Brough Superior and Richard Mille’s signature approach to materials, structure, and detail.

A Fusion of Engineering and Precision

At the heart of the RMB 01 is a twin-cylinder engine. The engine is mounted within a carbon-titanium frame that sets the tone for the bike’s ultra-lightweight construction. Richard Mille’s touch is most evident in the material selection: carbon fibre, titanium, and exposed hardware dominate. This lends the bike an industrial elegance that prioritises performance and structural honesty over superficial ornamentation.

The front suspension features a double-wishbone setup, an unusual and complex system typically reserved for high-performance automotive applications. Meanwhile, the instrument cluster is intentionally minimal, echoing the brand’s signature skeletonised timepieces.

“It’s a motorcycle shaped by luxury engineering,” said a Richard Mille representative. “Every component is there for a reason—nothing is superfluous.”

Limited Run, Unlimited Attention

Only 150 units of the RMB 01 will be available, with sales managed through Richard Mille’s global retail network. Pricing details remain undisclosed, but early speculation suggests it may cost less than some of Mille’s most exclusive watches. This is a nod to its value as both a functional machine and collectible artwork.

This marks Richard Mille’s first physical vehicle and represents a broader strategic shift into the luxury mobility space. While the brand has long supported motorsport and racing initiatives, the RMB 01 is a tangible expression of that philosophy. One you can ride, not just wear.

A Strategic Partnership

For Brough Superior, the Toulouse-based motorcycle manufacturer known for hand-assembled, low-volume motorcycles, the RMB 01 elevates the brand into a new echelon of design collaboration. Brough handled the chassis, engine, and core mechanical systems, while Richard Mille defined the materials and the bike’s industrial design DNA.

“This collaboration isn’t about mass production. It’s about control, craft, and shared values,” noted one insider. “This is an engineering statement—one that collectors will absolutely understand.”

Luxury’s New Frontier

High-end brands are increasingly extending their design philosophy into mobility, and the RMB 01 reflects this growing trend. Bugatti has partnered with lifestyle brands, Rimowa has explored electric scooters, and now Richard Mille enters the motorcycle world, underscoring how experience and engineering are redefining luxury beyond traditional categories.

Whether Richard Mille keeps the RMB 01 as a one-off or expands it into a series, the brand firmly positions itself as a player in the future of luxury mobility. This motorcycle invites enthusiasts not only to admire it but to push it, ride it, and truly engage with its performance-driven design.
