MotoGP will continue to thrill fans at the Sachsenring until at least 2031, following the signing of a new five-year agreement that cements the German Grand Prix as a staple of the MotoGP calendar. This renewed commitment ensures that the legendary Sachsenring (one of the most historic venues in motorcycle racing) will remain the heart of German motorsport for years to come.
With more than 250,000 fans attending the race weekend in 2025, the Sachsenring continues to break attendance records, making it the single largest sporting event in Germany. As MotoGP accelerates its global growth, securing a presence in Europe’s biggest economy marks a key milestone in the sport’s expansion strategy.

“Saxony is motor racing country,” said Michael Kretschmer, Prime Minister of Saxony. “The new record attendance at the weekend showed once again how much we love motorsport in Saxony. It also reveals that the allure of this race and the Sachsenring reaches far beyond our region. In 2027, we’ll be celebrating 100 years of racing at the Sachsenring — and now we’ll get to keep that tradition alive until at least 2031.”
Dr. Gerd Ennser, President of ADAC Sport, echoed the sentiment, adding, “MotoGP at the Sachsenring is the most significant national motor racing event, and we aim to continue this success story. This long-term agreement wouldn’t be possible without the strong partnership with the Saxony state government and the overwhelming support from fans.”
Dorna Sports CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta also praised the new deal, saying, “Germany is an important market for MotoGP, and Sachsenring is one of the most exciting venues on the calendar. We want to thank ADAC and the Saxony Government for their ongoing commitment, and especially the fans who make this Grand Prix an unforgettable experience every year.”
