MotoGP confirms five more years at Japan’s Mobility Resort Motegi, extending the iconic circuit’s place on the calendar through 2030.

MotoGP has confirmed that the Japanese Grand Prix will remain at Mobility Resort Motegi through 2030, extending the sport’s longstanding presence in one of its most important markets. The announcement secures five more years of racing at the iconic circuit. Thus, continuing Japan’s role as a key fixture in the MotoGP calendar.
Known for its technically challenging layout and scenic backdrop, Motegi has hosted the Japanese GP since 1999. It is considered a fan-favourite among riders and spectators alike. The renewal comes ahead of the full reveal of the 2026 season schedule, reaffirming Motegi’s place in the series’ global tour.
Tsuyoshi Saito, President of Honda Mobilityland Corporation, expressed his gratitude to MotoGP organisers and reiterated the venue’s commitment to growing the sport and delivering memorable events.
“We aim for further development of motorcycle sports and sustainable event management. In cooperation with local communities and authorities, we hope to offer even more attractive Grand Prix events.”
Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports, welcomed the extension, highlighting Japan’s significance:
“Japan is important for MotoGP. Motegi always puts on a fantastic show and is a point of reference on the calendar. Japanese fans are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate.”
The extension ensures that MotoGP’s connection with Japanese manufacturers and its dedicated fanbase remains strong, with Motegi continuing as a key round in the championship for years to come.
