Jorge Martin, after a private test in Misano, is set to make his MotoGP comeback in Brno, stating: “See you all in Brno.”

Reigning MotoGP world champion Jorge Martin has finally made his long-awaited return to MotoGP action, riding the Aprilia RS-GP25 during a private test session at the Misano World Circuit on Wednesday, his first time back on the bike since the season opener in Qatar.
After missing every round since Lusail due to a brutal series of injuries, Martin completed 64 laps in total, 29 in the morning and another 35 in the afternoon, and confirmed his intention to race in next weekend’s Czech Grand Prix at Brno, pending medical clearance.
“I’m really happy to be here. It’s been a difficult journey,” said Martin. “Finally, after more than three months I’m back on a MotoGP bike, so I’m super happy. It’s a pity that I was injured so many times that we didn’t make the whole season, but now we are back. This is the most important thing.”

Aprilia Racing also confirmed Martin’s participation in Brno is expected, provided he passes an official medical check before the weekend.
From Champion to Comeback: A Rocky 2025 Season
Martin’s 2025 campaign has been plagued with injury setbacks since switching to Aprilia from Pramac Ducati, where he made history as the first Independent rider to win a MotoGP championship.
He missed all of pre-season testing due to wrist and hand injuries from a Sepang crash, only to suffer additional fractures during a Supermoto training incident ahead of the Thai GP. At Lusail (his only race so far)he crashed and was struck by Fabio di Giannantonio, sustaining rib fractures and lung trauma.
Last week, Martin took part in a private shakedown aboard an Aprilia RSV4 Superbike in Barcelona. That test helped pave the way for today’s MotoGP session under the sport’s revised rules allowing injured riders to test before making a full return.
“The feeling today was great,” Martin said after the Misano run. “We did a great job from the beginning, step by step, and finally we were able to work a lot. So I’m super happy and ready for what’s coming.”
Despite missing this weekend’s German Grand Prix at Sachsenring, MotoGP’s medical director Dr. Ángel Charte recently revealed that Martin’s rib injuries were healing well, although some fractures had yet to fully consolidate. Still, Martin is hopeful of making it to Brno for the final race before the summer break.

Contract Speculation Grows
While Martin prepares to return to the grid, speculation continues to swirl around his future with Aprilia, with reports of a contract dispute potentially impacting his 2026 plans.
During Martin’s absence, his team-mate Marco Bezzecchi has stepped up in a big way, claiming a win at Silverstone and back-to-back podiums at Assen, keeping Aprilia’s momentum alive.
