Verge Next is a modular electric vehicle platform perfect for wide accessibility. It’s built to accommodate not just motorcycles, but e-bikes, mopeds, scooters, and other two-wheeled EVs. The focus? Simplicity, efficiency, and flexibility.

At the heart of Verge Next is Verge’s most iconic innovation: the Donut Motor.

The Donut Motor: Hubless, Seamless Power

The Donut Motor is a hubless electric motor integrated directly into the rear wheel, offering a cleaner, lighter, and more visually striking alternative to traditional setups. Developed in collaboration with Donut Lab, this rear-wheel motor not only reduces mechanical complexity but also boosts efficiency by eliminating parts like chains and belts.

Key highlights:

  • Hubless design for reduced weight and drag
  • Available in 12-inch and 17-inch sizes
  • Multiple power levels—custom specs available on request

This isn’t just tech for Verge’s own bikes anymore. With Next, the company is opening it up to the world.

A Platform for Creators

The company is positioning Verge Next as more than just a product; it’s a creative toolkit. The platform strips away unnecessary components, allowing others to build on top of Verge’s proven foundation without starting from scratch.

Concept visuals released alongside the announcement showcase a lineup of potential applications:

  • Minimalist electric scooters
  • Futuristic commuter e-bikes
  • Lightweight mopeds
  • Custom performance electric motorcycles

And this is just the beginning.

Why It Matters

By opening up its technology, Verge is doing something rare in the EV space: making cutting-edge performance tech accessible to independent creators and small manufacturers.

If successful, Verge Next could lead to an explosion of diverse, high-efficiency electric two-wheelers, all uniquely designed yet built around a proven and powerful core.
