It was a day of determination and data for Alessandro Lupino and the Beddini Racing Ducati Factory MX2 Team, as they wrapped up the final round of the French Elite Motocross Championship at Rauville La Place in Normandy with a strong performance despite physical setbacks.
Riding the Ducati Desmo250 MX, Lupino faced adversity early, suffering a heavy crash on his first flying lap of the timed practice session, just meters before the finish line. Although visibly shaken and sore, the Italian rider managed to clock the sixth-fastest lap in the only practice run of the day.
But instead of sitting out, the reigning Italian Prestige MX1 Champion pushed through the discomfort, lining up for both motos. His resilience paid off.
- Race 1: Lupino battled through the pack to finish 5th in a competitive field.
- Race 2: Despite a slow start from 7th, he fought back to secure 4th place, even recording the third-fastest lap time of the race.
With those results, Lupino took 6th overall for the day, a solid outcome considering the circumstances.
“I was in pain all day, and honestly not in the right mindset to push,” Lupino admitted. “But we came here to log time on the bike and test under real race conditions and we did exactly that. The results could’ve been better, but I’m proud we finished strong.”
Beyond the scoreboard, this outing was all about development and progress for the Desmo250 MX project. With every lap, Ducati continues to gather race-ready data to refine its motocross ambitions.
The French finale may have marked the end of this particular campaign, but for Lupino and Ducati’s MX2 team, it’s only the beginning of something bigger.
