In a weekend of mixed weather, unpredictable conditions, and tough starts, Remy Gardner turned adversity into opportunity by storming to a top-five finish in Race 2 at Autodrom Most—his best result of the 2025 WorldSBK season so far. The GYTR GRT Yamaha rider showcased both resilience and raw speed in the Czech Republic, salvaging valuable championship points and sending a clear message: he’s coming into form.
Fighting Through the Pack
The weekend didn’t start smoothly for the GRT Yamaha team. A wet Warm-Up session on Sunday morning set an uncertain tone, and the Superpole Race, though dry, didn’t bring the turnaround they hoped for. Both Gardner and teammate Dominique Aegerter struggled off the line in the 10-lap sprint, finishing outside the points in 15th and 19th.
But where some would falter, Gardner refocused.
Starting Race 2 from 10th on the grid, Gardner rocketed off the line, slicing through the field with clinical aggression. Within the opening laps, he was already among the front runners, and from there, he stayed composed, maintaining a rapid, consistent pace. As the laps wound down and the field stretched out, Gardner remained locked in, opening a comfortable gap from the chasers and crossing the line in an emphatic fifth.
“What a way to end the weekend!” Gardner shared post-race. “We kept our heads down, made smart changes, and it paid off. I could fight with the front group and stay with them for most of the race. That early push made all the difference.”
Aegerter’s Recovery Ride
On the other side of the garage, Dominique Aegerter mounted a determined comeback in Race 2. After a tough Superpole and a deep grid position, the Swiss rider carved his way through eight rivals to finish 11th, salvaging solid points and offering encouraging signs of pace.
“Starting from so far back was tough,” said Aegerter, “but the bike felt much better in Race 2. We gained positions and made progress, which gives us something to build on heading into the next round.”
Eyes on the Second Half
While Gardner’s P5 finish doesn’t rewrite the championship standings just yet, it’s a firm step forward for the GYTR GRT Yamaha squad. It also marks a turning point in Gardner’s campaign—proof that when the conditions allow, he has the pace and racecraft to challenge at the front.
With momentum building and another round on the horizon, both Gardner and Aegerter will be aiming higher as the season moves into its second half. If Sunday’s performance at Most is any indication, the best may be yet to come for Yamaha’s satellite squad.
