Multiple highways and roads across the Klang Valley will be closed in stages from May 23 to 28 in conjunction with the 46th ASEAN Summit 2025 in Kuala Lumpur.
Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri announced that the closures will affect six major highways and 25 main roads, particularly those leading to Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), key hotels, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Subang Airport, and Istana Negara.

Mohd Yusri stated that traffic control will begin 30 minutes before each scheduled convoy, with roadblocks and diversions enforced daily between 8 AM and 8 PM during the summit period.

Traffic Advisory & Public Cooperation
A total of 789 personnel, including 55 senior officers, will be deployed to manage traffic. The public is advised to:
✔ Avoid restricted routes
✔ Use alternative roads
✔ Plan journeys in advance
✔ Follow instructions from traffic personnel
✔ Prioritise public transport (LRT, MRT, Monorail, Buses)
Mohd Yusri also called for close coordination with agencies such as JPJ, local authorities, the Public Works Ministry (KKR), and highway concessionaires to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Motorists are urged to stay updated via official channels and expect delays during the summit period.
