The Alps weren’t the only thing rumbling in Switzerland. Jeremy Seewer just made motocross history for Ducati in front of a roaring home crowd.
In just their sixth ever Grand Prix appearance, Ducati Corse Off Road landed its first MXGP World Championship podium, and it happened in the most poetic way possible, courtesy of Swiss native Seewer, racing just a short drive from his hometown of Bülach.
Riding the Desmo450 MX like it was built for the Swiss dirt, Seewer clawed his way to third overall at the MXGP of Switzerland in Frauenfeld. He turned what started as a weekend of promise into a full-blown celebration for the Aruba.it Ducati Factory MX Team.
From Stone-Struck to Star of the Show
The path to the podium wasn’t smooth. After a solid sixth in qualifying, Seewer came out swinging in the opening moto, grabbing second early before fading to seventh. In moto two, he grabbed the holeshot—or nearly did—before a flying rock slammed into his leg. This caused him to lose all sensation for over a lap.
Many riders would’ve settled. Seewer didn’t. He shook it off, found his rhythm, and delivered a stunning late-race charge, storming into third on the final lap—right in front of a Swiss crowd that was absolutely losing it.
“This is crazy,” Seewer said, beaming. “We built this from zero. And to get Ducati’s first podium here, in my home race, in front of this crowd—it’s something I’ll never forget.”

Ducati’s Motocross Mission Just Got Real
Let’s be clear: this podium is more than a shiny stat. It’s a statement.
Ducati, long known for its road racing dominance, is now making serious waves in the world of motocross. The Desmo450 MX proved this weekend it’s not just a pretty prototype—it’s a podium contender. And with Seewer at the controls, it’s starting to feel like the beginning of something big.
Lupino’s Grit Adds to Ducati’s Growing Momentum
While the spotlight rightly landed on Seewer, Alessandro Lupino deserves his flowers, too. After a last-minute call-up and just one test day on Seewer’s setup, the Italian rider battled through adversity—including a moto-two crash—to finish 15th and collect more points for Ducati.
“I wasn’t expecting much after just one ride,” Lupino said. “But I’m happy with the improvements and looking forward to racing the Desmo250 MX back home next weekend.”
Next Stop: Portugal
With Seewer now sitting ninth in the championship standings, and Ducati officially on the board, the red bikes from Bologna are headed to Portugal with a little more swagger—and a whole lot of attention.
Motocross fans, take note: Ducati’s no longer just experimenting off-road. They’ve arrived. And judging by what we saw in Switzerland, they’re here to win.
