HJC’s New Dual-Purpose Helmet Could Shake Things Up

HJC’s New Dual-Purpose Helmet Could Shake Things Up

HJC enters the dual-purpose helmet scene with the RPHA 60—a feature-packed, versatile lid built for both dirt and street.

Let’s be honest, when you think of high-end adventure or dual-sport helmets, HJC probably isn’t the first brand that comes to mind. Airoh? Sure. Shoei? Definitely. But that might be about to change.

Meet the HJC RPHA 60—a new dual-purpose helmet that blends off-road toughness with on-road comfort, and might just be the most versatile lid HJC has ever made.

Built for Dirt and the Daily Grind

The RPHA 60 is HJC’s way of saying, “Yeah, we can do premium too.” It’s designed for both trail shredders and highway cruisers. You can leave the peak visor on when you’re out kicking up dust, or pop it off—tool-free, by the way—for a sleeker look on the street. Either way, the helmet’s aerodynamic profile keeps things stable at speed, which means less head bob and wind noise.

Think of it as a shape-shifter for whatever kind of ride you’re into that day.

The Sun Visor Trick You Didn’t Know You Needed

One of the coolest features? The Dynamic Multi-Step Sun Visor. Sure, most helmets have a drop-down sun visor these days—but this one lets you slide it closer to your face by 5 to 10mm. It sounds small, but if you’ve ever been riding at golden hour with the sun blasting your cheeks, you’ll get why that matters.

It’s also got an anti-fog coating, which, let’s face it, should be standard on everything by now.

HJC enters the dual-purpose helmet scene with the RPHA 60—a feature-packed, versatile lid built for both dirt and street.

Tech-Ready, Rider-Approved

Want comms? You’re covered. The RPHA 60 is ready for the SMART HJC 2nd-gen Bluetooth system, co-developed with Sena. That means no tangled wires, no awkward fitting—just a clean, integrated system that feels built-in rather than bolted on.

Inside, the helmet is all about comfort and safety. 3D contour cheek pads give you a snug, custom feel. They’re also interchangeable and come with emergency pull tabs in case things go sideways.

Price vs. Premium: A Pleasant Surprise

Here’s the kicker: the RPHA 60 starts at $499.99 (approx. RM2,375.00), with special Dakar editions at $579.99. Compared to something like the Arai XD5, that’s a pretty sweet deal—especially when you consider the features packed in.

It’s not “cheap,” but it definitely punches above its price tag.

Final Verdict: A Serious Contender

The RPHA 60 isn’t trying to reinvent the dual-sport helmet. Instead, it focuses on getting everything right: comfort, versatility, safety, and style. And it does it all without the luxury markup.

So if you’re in the market for a helmet that can handle everything from trail dust to freeway blasts, without blowing your entire gear budget, this might be your next lid.

HJC just entered the dual-purpose ring, and honestly? They didn’t come to play.
