Hong Leong Yamaha Motor has officially launched the 2025 Yamaha Y15ZR Special Edition in Malaysia, unveiling a bold new “Bronze Fury” colourway that injects a fresh, premium visual punch into the brand’s ever-popular 150cc sporty commuter.

This new Special Edition not only gets a dramatic styling upgrade but also practical enhancements tailored for everyday riders. It comes equipped with exclusive accessories including a sporty front visor and a Yamaha Premium Basket that integrates a USB Type-C charging port. As a bonus, new owners will also receive a complimentary Yamaha safety disc lock worth RM100.

Mechanically, the Y15ZR SE retains the trusted performance platform that riders have come to rely on. Powering the bike is the same 149cc liquid-cooled, SOHC single-cylinder engine that produces 15 horsepower at 8,500rpm and 13.8Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic front fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear, with braking managed by hydraulic discs at both ends.

The bike rolls on gold-painted 17-inch wheels wrapped in 90/80 front and 120/70 rear tyres, and continues to offer a 780mm seat height, a 4.2-litre fuel tank, and a lightweight 117kg curb weight.

Yamaha’s two-year or 20,000km standard warranty applies, and the new Y15ZR SE will be available at authorized Yamaha dealers nationwide starting April 7, 2025. It is priced at RM9,498 (excluding registration and insurance).

With its refreshed styling and commuter-friendly features, the 2025 Y15ZR Special Edition looks to solidify its standing in Malaysia’s highly competitive 150cc segment, appealing to both urban riders and enthusiasts who want added flair without compromising on performance.
