Fast forward to today, and after spending some quality time with this machine, I can confidently say it’s worth every penny and lives up to the hype. Whether you’re an experienced rider or searching for a dependable touring partner, the V-Strom 800RE ticks all the right boxes. Here’s why.
The Heart of the Beast
At the core of the V-Strom 800RE is Suzuki’s 776cc parallel-twin engine, the same powerhouse that drives the GSX-8S and GSX-8R, albeit with different tuning. This engine is an absolute gem, offering smooth, responsive power across the rev range. With 83 horsepower and 78 Nm of torque, it’s more than capable of handling both city commutes and long highway stretches.
