First introduced in 1975, the Honda Gold Wing celebrates its golden anniversary this year. It is one of the most iconic touring motorcycles in history. The bike has shaped the industry by setting new standards in comfort, technology, and performance.

The 2025 Honda Gold Wing 50th Anniversary Edition

To mark this milestone, Honda has unveiled the 2025 Gold Wing with design updates and new technology. The highlight of the celebration is the 50th Anniversary edition, which honours its rich history.

Exclusive Features of the 50th Anniversary Edition

Honda has given the special edition Gold Wing a unique identity with several enhancements. The new colours include Eternal Gold with Mahogany Brown Metallic, inspired by the 1988 GL1500, and Bordeaux Red Metallic with bold gold graphics and gold detailing. Special badging distinguishes this model, featuring a Gold Wing emblem on the centre console and Smart Key, with ‘50th Anniversary’ and ‘Since 1975’ engravings. A dual-tone chrome emblem, combining a lion’s head with eagle wings, symbolizes power and elegance. The updated digital dash features a refreshed instrument cluster with a new display and a special start-up animation exclusive to the anniversary model.

2025 Honda GL1800 Gold Wing and Gold Wing Tour: Upgrades and Innovations

Beyond the commemorative model, all 2025 Gold Wing variants receive major upgrades. The enhanced audio system now has new speakers that provide superior sound at any speed. Seamless connectivity is achieved through wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing smartphone integration. The engine has been updated for compliance with a new O2 sensor and revised ECU settings to meet Euro 5+ standards. The powerful 1,833cc six-cylinder engine continues to produce 124.7 bhp as before. Advanced riding modes and safety features include four riding modes—Tour, Sport, Econ, and Rain—each with unique throttle mapping. Honda Selectable Torque Control and ABS enhance safety. Additional features include cruise control, hill start assist, a seven-inch TFT screen, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Heated grips are standard, while Tour models include heated seats. The optional Home Link System adds more convenience for riders.

2025 Honda Gold Wing Collector’s Edition

To celebrate this milestone, Honda has launched a limited Collector’s Edition model. It is available exclusively to the first 1,833 customers in Europe. Honda has also released a premium scale replica of the Gold Wing, measuring 11 inches wide and 6 inches high. One side showcases the original design, while the other features the latest model. This collectable honours five decades of innovation.

For 50 years, the Honda Gold Wing has been a leader in touring motorcycles. It has set new benchmarks in luxury, comfort, and performance. With the 2025 models, Honda continues to push motorcycle engineering forward. Whether through technology, design, or collector’s editions, this anniversary solidifies the Gold Wing’s legendary status.
