Aprilia Racing made steady progress on the second day of the Official Sepang MotoGP Test, with Marco Bezzecchi and test rider Lorenzo Savadori taking to the track.
Savadori stepped in to replace Jorge Martín, who was declared unfit after sustaining fractures to his right hand and left foot during a crash on the first day of testing. Martín is scheduled to undergo surgery today at the Clinica Quirón Dexeus in Barcelona.
The team’s focus for the day centred on evaluating new components and configurations for the RS-GP25, including updates to the electronics and aerodynamics. These developments were based on feedback from Bezzecchi and data gathered during the recent shakedown test. Both riders worked diligently to test various aerodynamic setups and electronic updates, aiming to refine the bike’s performance ahead of the 2025 season.
Bezzecchi, who is continuing his adaptation to the RS-GP25, completed 61 laps with a best time of 1:57.995, securing ninth place on the timesheets.

The Italian expressed satisfaction with the day’s progress, stating, “It was an important day, and we did well. We are continuing to work on a number of different aspects of the electronics and the aerodynamics, as well as various new elements of the RS-GP25. On this, the second day, we achieved some good results, so I’m very happy. Clearly, we still have a lot to test, but we’ve got another day, and we’ll try to make the most of it. It’s a real shame about Jorge’s injury; I hope he’s back in the box soon.”
On the other side of the garage, Lorenzo Savadori continued the development program he began during the shakedown test. Riding Martín’s bike, Savadori completed 51 laps, setting a best time of 1:59.771.

He emphasized the ongoing work on aerodynamics and electronics, noting, “We’re pushing ahead with the development work, especially in terms of aerodynamics and electronics. These aspects take a lot of time, including in terms of performance, because we have to find the best way to move forward, and there are still so many elements to be tested. All the best to Jorge and Raúl for a speedy recovery.”
Aprilia Racing’s efforts on Day 2 highlighted their commitment to refining the RS-GP25, with both Bezzecchi and Savadori contributing valuable feedback. As the test concludes on the third day, the team will aim to maximize their track time and gather critical data to ensure a competitive start to the 2025 MotoGP season.
