Mdua Motor Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of AFY Mobility Industries (AMI), has officially unveiled Moda, a new Malaysian motorcycle brand aimed at capturing the growing local scooter market. The brand’s first offering, the Moda Sporter-S, is a 250cc scooter designed to appeal to modern riders with its sporty and aerodynamic design.

The Moda Sporter-S is powered by a 244cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine delivering 24.8hp at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 22.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Compliant with Euro 4 standards, the scooter ensures both performance and fuel efficiency.

Rolling on 15-inch wheels up front and 14-inch wheels at the rear, the Sporter-S features tyres sized at 120/70 (front) and 140/60 (rear). Braking is handled by twin 260 mm hydraulic discs at the front and a single 240 mm disc at the rear, supported by a two-channel ABS system.

The addition of a Traction Control System (TCS) further enhances safety and stability. Suspension duties are managed by an upside-down fork at the front and adjustable rear shock absorbers.

Technology plays a central role in the Sporter-S. It comes equipped with Matrix LED lights, a 6.2-inch TFT display, and Bluetooth connectivity via the Moda Car Bit ride app, which offers navigation functions. Additional features include a keyless start system, tyre pressure monitoring, remote-controlled fuel and seat opening, backlit handlebar switches, and a USB charging port.

Weighing 186 kg (dry), the Sporter-S boasts a 13-litre fuel tank and ample under-seat storage, spacious enough for two helmets, making it ideal for both daily commutes and longer trips.

Locally assembled (CKD) at the AMI factory in Shah Alam, Moda scooters emphasize quality and innovation. The introduction of this model aligns with the rising demand for economical and environmentally friendly vehicles in Malaysia.

The Moda Sporter-S is available in two striking colours, Sporty Red and Meteor Grey, and is priced at RM17,888 (excluding road tax, insurance, and registration). The scooter comes with a two-year or 20,000 km warranty against manufacturing defects and is now available at authorized Moda dealers nationwide.
