Suzuki Malaysia has officially launched the GSX-8R, a high-performance sports bike that promises to set new standards in engineering, design, and technology.

As one of the most anticipated motorcycles of the year, the GSX-8R has already garnered significant attention for its powerful performance and advanced features, positioning itself as a formidable contender in the sports bike segment.

The GSX-8R is powered by a robust 776cc parallel-twin engine that delivers 82 hp at 8,500 rpm and 78 Nm of torque at 6,800 rpm. Featuring a 270-degree crankshaft and a primary balancer, the engine provides smooth yet dynamic performance, making it suitable for both track enthusiasts and road riders.

Its full fairing design enhances aerodynamics and offers improved protection for the rider, embodying the perfect blend of style and functionality.

The bike is equipped with a range of advanced features, including the Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS) with three adjustable modes, a quickshifter for seamless gear changes, and a 5-inch TFT display that provides riders with intuitive access to essential information. The Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) reduces effort on the clutch lever, enhancing rider comfort during extended journeys.

Additionally, the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) incorporates a suite of electronic rider aids such as the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) with three settings, Ride-by-Wire Electronic Throttle System, and Low RPM Assist.

Braking performance is top-notch, with dual four-piston radial-mount callipers paired with 310mm front discs and a 240mm rear disc, ensuring precise and reliable stopping power. The bike also features Showa Separate Function Big Piston (SFF-BP) forks, delivering superior handling and stability.

With a seat height of 810 mm, a 14-litre fuel tank, and a weight of 205 kg, the GSX-8R offers a balanced combination of comfort and performance.

Suzuki GSX-8R

Internationally, the GSX-8R has made its mark by clinching the prestigious Sportsbike of the Year award from Motorcycle News (MCN). This recognition follows the success of its sibling, the GSX-8S, which won the Best Naked Bike award, further solidifying Suzuki’s reputation for delivering innovative and high-performing motorcycles.

The GSX-8R’s capabilities extend beyond the road, with its racing credentials demonstrated by Team Hammer USA’s success in the 2024 MotoAmerica National series, where the bike played a key role in securing the team’s 133rd win and 362nd podium finish. This accomplishment underscores the GSX-8R’s prowess as a track-ready machine that can deliver exceptional results.

Priced at RM53,800 in Malaysia, the GSX-8R is available at Suzuki Big Bike World (SBBW) dealerships nationwide.
